A cc of the e-mail I sent to the kind and beautiful webmistress... Funny coincidence, I just posted a message yesterday on a Yahoo thread on how much better SI was in terms of quality and while it required a fee, there were no ads or spamming to put up with. Now we see sponsored by Datek....How about considering an option for members to screen out the ads and let the lurkers suffer through the ads. You won't get complaints from the members and you might "encourage" new membership...SI would reap the best of both worlds.

I haven't seen the Datek banner, but here is a cut & paste of the benefits of becoming a member. I distinctly remember the 2nd last one when I signed up, and it's still there.
