<<<* Now this is something I am not sure if I got it
right: He said that Intel has decided to use WIND's
OS as the core OS to run their new family of
microprocessors!?!
Could this be possible??? If it is, then this could be
HUGE!!! I hope someone on this thread with more technical
savvy can shed some light on this possibility...>>>

Comment: This would be I2O. wj

Karim,

I am very excited about the Liberate relationship as well. From the news releases, Liberate really seems to know how to get it done.

As for using VxWorks over Intel CPUs. I think he was probably referring to VxWorks over StrongARM rather than I2O. Recently, Intel has announced plan for 600MHz StrongARM that consumes only 450mW. This will be a killer processor, and probably would run over any 32 bit embedded MIPS.

As for the beautiful campus, I am very disappointed. I rather see them renting an old and cheap place than a state of art facility. WRS needs to realize that a fast moving stock is what keeps the ambitious employees, not offices with great views. Borland has a very nice campus, but it's not making it a good company to work for. On the contrary, Linear Technology has been know as one of the cheapest yet most successful semiconductor company in the valley.

Karim, Thanks for the report on your tour of WRS. I saw the building last year under construction and it looked very nicely sited overlooking the bay. I will see it again next week at the shareholders conference.

What you said about the building and the excitement brewing at the company over Liberate and Intel and Java and post PC appliances bodes very well for the recruitment of the new CEO. It is a great time to join the company for a talented, forward looking business leader. Ron leaves the company well positioned for the next leap forward.

I expect the stock's next leap forward to come with the CEO announcement. Maybe before June 24? That would be amazing.
