Nihil, you have posted similar things before, so I have no reason to doubt you, although I do admit that some of the things you post as fact I am quite sure are hyperbole or fable.I'm sure that's true but who can say which is which? Taking what you say at face value, in retrospect, do you wish that you had done any of these things differently? Was it wise to buy your sons Porsche 914s for example, rather than Porsche 911s or Volkswagens? Yes, I should have bought them classics, 911's, 356, or better Ferrari's. They would have turned in to much better mechanics. Also, those cars were much better investments. (But they crashed most of them anyway). Did dissecting dead animals (thank goodness not live ones!) at a tender age cause their psyches trauma? These were very bright and scientific kids. They and their friends were eager to learn about life and nature. Was it wise to show young children detailed pictures of people engaged in intercourse? It grew out of their natural curiosity. Where do babies come from? Out of their mothers vagina. What's a vagina? Girls are built differently from boys. Can I see momma's vagina, no, that's private like everyone's, but here's a cutaway picture in an Encyclopaedia. Ugh. She must be dead. It's just like dissecting the mouse. How does the baby get into the uterus. It grows. Where does the seed come from. The father puts it in through the cervix. How? He uses his penis. How can he get his penis into that closed up vagina. When he plants the seed his penis gets big and hard and he pushes it inside her. She's flexible and her vagina expands to receive him ... etc. After all that mechanics, and insertion, and necessary force, I thought it was imperative to show them (one at a time) that the voluntary sexual act could be pleasurable for both men and women. Sometimes I overshot. As one said "She sure looks like she's enjoying that. How does her sucking him help her make a baby?" In retrospect, was it presumptuous to give specific advice on sex techniques to your own children? Who better to do that? I learned sex from ignorant street people. It disgusted me. I thought that men had to hurt women to have sex with them. I saw a movie that moved me when the Seymour Queen died in having Prince Edward (VI) I denied the possibility that my parents had to have engaged in sex. When my wife was having our first, another girl was dying from peritonitis in the next room. Her husband had forced himself into her navel, broken or cut her open and ejaculated into her abdominal cavity. His ignorance had killed her. She had been told that sex hurt terribly. Another girl bore an acephalic child that night. I was horrified for the other husbands in the waiting room and their poor wives. Taking a cue from my son, sometimes I tell him more than he wants to know. Is it possible that you told them more than they wanted to know? Oh sure! But they could always walk away, but they never did. When my son tells his 6 year old more than she wants to know at the moment, she grabs her head with both hands and runs away shouting "Brain full! Brain full!"
