Oh man, you would think, my being near NYC (relatively), that my favourite Chinese rest. would be in Chinatown. NADA. There is a dinky little place near our house on East End that my wife and I sometimes visit when we are in the area. Its on York Ave. We used to know the owners, but think they are now long gone. The place was ALWAY kickin'. Lines everywhere. The food there was so very good.

On winter nights my wife and I would ocassionally hop into the city and just stand outside the restaurant with a bunch of people to talk. The folks at the restaurant would bring us two glasses of cheap chablis (but we loved that dang stuff), and then, when it was time, we'd go inside for a wonderful dinner. What a hip little dive.

Then we'd walk up to 86th street to a little place we called "Greasy Corner." and share a slug of cheesecake.

Haven't done that in a long time.
