NEWS...Gomez is now linked to AOL brokerage center and quotes page...

aol.gomez.com

Check out the Gomez site above ...it is quite large, easy to get lost in....covers just about everything having to do with finance, most notably rating online brokers, and also has several chat rooms, Bulletin Boards, and shopping network, as well as daily news and financial reports...18 million (?) AOL users now have easy access to Gomez advisors.....nice publicity, eh?

My gurus also concur that Unix is a safer choice for high volume transaction processing systems, but given that the volume of VWAP transactions is not that great, NT might do just fine - it really depends on the extent to which a high volume of transactions has to be processed in real time, and the peak loading characteristics, database characteristics, and other factors.

The other concern often raised about NT vs Unix is security, NT generally thought to have more holes. Given the absolute need for secrecy here, this may be a more convincing reason to have chosen Unix.
