I am printing this out - I never thought about it in such terms - that is really cool.

I really like your approach. YOu know, it just never was a big deal at our house. The boys loved everything about Christmas, the fun of all the holidays, and they believed in Santa for several years, but when they asked about him and the Easter Bunny and we answered with the truth, they accepted it fine. Then they went right on pretending they believed.

I think my children have had a wonderful childhood, with lots of magic and joy, and I don't think they have been scarred or feel betrayed by the fantasies.

EDIT-
I was just thinking about a little girl on the Disney ship--- we passed her and her mother in the hall outside the dining room- the little girl was sobbing hysterically, "I don't want to see that big mouse again!"
