kash, Re: This type of ineptness has been de rigeur from AMD, but to see it form Intel is incroyable!!!

That is my feeling too. Though I still don't consider AMD a
threat. Just a bit disappointed to see Intel top execs picking
up Jerry's behaviour.

<Kash - re: If those profits start vanishing-due to AMD kicking some BUTT we could see a run on the stock that we haven't seen in a long long time.>

The INTC July puts I bought yesterday are burning a hole in my pocket already.

Kash - RE: "It sure is a golden opportunity for AMD.

I am amazed at this f*ck up."

This DELAY is very good, for AMD. It allows them extra time for their buddies to get their chipsets ready to compete with a more competitive product and it allows AMD extra time to get out their 650MHZ K7.

"They have admitted that the current 0.18 Coppermine design is yielding at 500Mhz and not at all at 600Mhz. In addition they had started risk production silicon that they have to junk!!!"

Good catch on the .18 issue. The 1.5 volt mobile PIII was as big of a hint as one could get. And to think, a few Intelabees didn't like the fact that I kept writing about it. Hindsight is 20/20, but it can also be fun!

"Intel has moved from a period where it performed flawlessly to where recently everything is late and screwed up and we haven't even got to the RAMBUST issues yet!!!"

This whole platform is screwed up:

Camino has been DELAYED
RAMBUST DRDRAM has been DELAYED
Coppermine has been DELAYED

It is as if someone cursed Intel.

Of course, who knows, the delay may turn out to be bad for AMD and good for Intel. For all we know, Intel may put out a killer .18 process that is even better than their current .25 one.

Unfortunately, AMD controls its own destiny...
