I believe this is a backdoor attempt by bellsouth to acquire frontier and dsl of uswest.Qwest doesn't have the strength to do this by themselves-----they have a backer.Bellsouth would have been well aware of qwest's intentions prior to this merger announcement.Their investment signals their approval and their involvement.

Or it is an attempt by qwest to muddy the waters to prevent a takeover by bellsouth and remain independent.Either way things are heating up here and qwest is smack in the middle of it all.
