Iomega warns of loss and charge, to slash 450 jobs
ROY, Utah, June 18 (Reuters) - Iomega Corp. (NYSE:IOM - news) on Friday warned of a second quarter loss due to slack sales of its Zip and Jaz discs and drives, and said it would cut 450 jobs and take a $45 million charge in the quarter in a bid to shore up profits.

But even without the charge, the computer products company forecast a loss in the range of 5 cents to 10 cents per share on lower revenues, vs. a loss of 13 cents minus charges on revenues of $394 million in the same year-earlier period. Wall Street had expected Iomega to break even in the quarter ending June 27, according to research firm First Call Corp.
