If people invested solely on my OPINION, not advice, that's their decision. And given that I have been bearish on gold from the $290s there are some folks who, had they considered and incorporated my opinion in their decision making, would now be profitable, not at a deficit.

Richard, the trend is your friend. And the trend in gold continues to be down over the intermediate to long term. Break that trend and there is no way I'll be stupid enough to bet against it.

But it still wouldn't mean that I think gold is truly useful as monetary backing. But if people wish to invest in an illusion, I'll join the party if it means making a few bucks.

But then I'll have to assess whether there are better places to make money and increase the size of the ol portfolio.
