"so why get so worked up about it all?"

Because these F'rs get rich manipulating stocks and where is the SEC? They want to work, go after the brokerages that obviously manipulate.

Isn't CNBC great, we just report it. Over and over and over again. While Maria blows AOL out of proportion every morning.

<GV - re: And as long as your time horizon is longer than a month, what Edelstone says makes absolutely no difference anyway, so why get so worked up about it all? >

The Q3 and Q4 will be affected by CuLaterMine delay. So the time horizon here is 6-12 month. Giving AMD some breathing room may extend the time horizon years into the future. As a matter of fact this may be the "inflection point" that Andy is so fond of talking about.

GV, I guess the real issue is how the Lemmings react to news. I see it as a buying opportunity. I just spoke to IR, who told me the company may be delayed on the .18 but they are ahead of schedule on their 600 mhz .25 chip (which should be available in August). How do you justify lowering your rating on INTC at the same time that you are lowering your estimates by a few pennies (which the company doesn't agree with) and say the the stock is undervalued?

:o)

My main problem with all of this is private conversations which companies have with analysts. I am quite certain in my mind that the comapny that reported the delay yesterday knew what they wewre talking about because they spoke with the company. If there was going to be a delay, then there should have been a press release fom the company so that they could spin it their way. Instead, the told one analyst (much the way DELL did with Kumar) and then did a press release hours later. I am very tired of insiders getting prime news before the public.
