>>> Dale, you're supposed to sell on euphoria, not despair. :) <<<

Gottfried, yeah, experience tells me there's plenty of truth in that statement. I just feel that at best, IOM is going to be dead money for awhile and has a good chance of drifting lower. One of the reasons I sold so quickly this morning is because I was surprised IOM did not take a larger hit at the open. I jumped on the opportunity.

While the charge didn't bother me, a couple of other issues did. It now appears that weak Jaz sales for last quarter were not a fluke. I'm concerned that the company was not able to do better on the bottom line given relatively stable sell prices. It seems the 250 did not provide the margin boost I expected. I also believe the news we've seen this week will cause management's credibility to suffer a bit.

I was watching this quarter very closely because I felt it was a critical period which would signal Iomega's direction for some time to come. IMO, the signal was loud and clear.

My losses here are already history and I hope I'm wrong in my opinion of IOM for the sake of all those who continue to hold. Good luck.

Regards - Dale

G,

Do you own shares in IOM? If so, aren't you concerned about alternative media storage(e.g. Superdisks), cheap and plenty HD space(the avg HD is now nearly 10 gigs), and free storage space on the net by Infoseek etc? Additionally, you can now email files instead of transferring them via a hard copy. Seems that there are many reasons to sell and few to buy.

BTW, I have an Imation Superdisk on my comp and have not had the need to buy and disks as of yet.

Regards,

Brian

Dale, you're supposed to sell on euphoria, not despair. :) G.

Selling on despair (particularly from long term longs) is usually a good sign the bottom has been reached :)
