btw...they refer to dividends as being payable to "shareholders of record" on the x date. they pay the dividend sometime later, usually several weeks later. so don't look for an immediate credit to your brokerage account.

i went to quote.yahoo.com and searched "dividends"

Common Shares payable on September 1, 1999 to shareholders of record at the close of business on July 29, 1999
biz.yahoo.com

so this one buy on the 29th, sell on the morning of the 30th of july to capture the dividend and you don't get your money for 4 1/2 weeks after that
