Is 113 a stumbling block(resistance)?

Not as far as I'm concerned. $110 is a support area which I very much want to see AOL close above today. I think the next resistance on the way up is about $119.

I think the low Friday volume has something to do with the limited upside today. It will be interesting to see how the last 30 minutes plays out today. I vote for a strong close moving towards $113.

IMO

Today's price action looks like classic options expiry. You have to ignore traditional supports and resistance on days like this. There really is nothing on the graph till AOL gets to 115. Once options pressure is lifted and AOL is set free, the chart looks positive at the moment. Break above 120 would be very bullish(most recent major peak). Break below 106(consolidation zone) re-establishes bear trend.

Ed:

The TA folks will say that the 112-115 range is likely to provide heavy resistance due to the lows on high volume at this level on 3/24, 4/19, 5/5 and 5/7, so we probably need a good high volume up day to break through. Next heavy resistance would appear to be 120, if we break through that it's off to the races.

Disclaimer: while I'm a relative newcomer to investing compared to the folks who've been doing TA for ages, I've never seen any convincing rationale for why TA works (sometimes) other than the fact that lots of people believe in it and in fact act upon it. So the above is JMO on the TA, maybe others more experienced will have a different take.

Ed,

who was buying that 1.75 millions share of AOL on the last trade?

We broke 113 today on very light volume, we are on our way back to the top.
