Brian - Re: "Excellent post. "

Thank you.

Re: " how these talking heads and anal-ists who think a wafer is a candy made by Necco "

Now that brings back memories !

I used to walk past the NECCO factory on Mass. Ave, in Cambridge on the way to classes - what a fantastic SMELL - that used to substitute for my breakfast !

Re: "the electronic industry pundits like to tear down the industry leaders who created the very industry that supports their life-styles. "

Touche'.

I once said about Kurlak - on this thread - that in 10 or twenty years, Intel will be bigger and better and greater and he (Kurlak) will be just another forgotten semi analyst.

I was off by about 18 1/2 years.

Kurlak is already a forgotten semi analyst !

RE: "corporations learn how to use the internet to promote a better understanding of what they do and how they are doing."

This is happening - through the Internet, corporations are becoming better empowered to communicate to the entire investment community.

Also, I think the leading-edge analysts will eventually post their spreadsheet calculations estimating earnings (with assumptions/ variables) on their websites. Peer review/ feedback is the thing to do, so let it spread to the financial industry - it makes for better precision IMHO.

Glossing over earnings estimates, and simply reporting it as opinion through a news release, without the details, doesn't exactly interest me. Increased competition via Internet will possibly encourage enhancements in many aspects of financial reporting.
