Many have thought about it.

Theory 1 - He's planning to bail. Well, he won't bail with much. holds only 1 share and that $1 salary doesn't get you far.

Theory 2 - Getting the company setup for takeover. Well, if you want the company to be up for sale you certainly would make the stock price a bit more of a bargain. It would have sold better at $17 than the current 47 and up price tag.

Theory 3 - Keeps the iCEO title to command press attention. Maybe. They always ask "Is he or isn't he?" Has too much going on managing Pixar to run Apple. But if he isn't running Apple, what is he doing? What will Steve jobs do next? This kind of press keeps Apple in the spotlight. He sneezes and the press jumps to see his booger.

Again, he's not likley to share boogers with CPQ.
