Unfortunately, I have a full time consulting business to run. Few are the days that I have to sit around and ruminate. But if I ever get around to giving this investment stuff 100% of my time, maybe I'd try pushing such ideas with the hope that something would come of it.

How to organize such a large number of individuals, each with his/her own point of view?

How to get concerted and united action from enough individuals in the face of the big guys' contrary actions to actually have an effect?

What got me thinking on these lines again (for the nth time) was the fact that the recent AOL decline was caused in large part by the funds lightening up 10-15% on AOL over the last few months -- that's only a a net sell of 50 to 75 million shares, not hard to soak up and even overcome if you could get enough folks on board.
