MSNBC only reports the news so I don't think there's a bias either way. After all Bill Gates is pro-Internet gambling with his alliance with Kerry Packer in Australia.

Any ban on Internet gambling in the United States would only apply to US citizens anyway, so not really a huge deal in that regard. My best guess is that legislators only real hope will be curtailment strategies such as a chokehold on credit card collections where used for Internet gambling, making wire transfers illegal, etc.

Ecommerce banking affiliations are negating the need for wire transfers, snail mail and credit cards anyway, so pretty soon it's back to square one, perhaps next year.
