AMEN, to use a religious phrase. Yes, if they wish their children to be indoctrinated in specific religious beliefs, there are schools which specialize in that. I would even go so far as to support vouchers which would allow them to retrieve the tax dollars they paid into the public education fund and use them to pay private tuition.

Amen, Barb!

Let the market determine the type of schools we have. The Federalization of education in this country is the problem. Let the community tailor its school to its unique needs rather than having the know it alls educrats in Washington coerce us into one standard.

Read Sheldon Richman's "Separating School and State" for a good libertarian treatment of this issue.
