I have a different bug. Obnoxious purple spam in the upper right hand corner.

IE5 is buggy as hell. I gave up and went back to Netscape and IE4.

I've had the same problem with IE 5.0. It's obviously a bug in the software.

either its a bug, or

the edit control (where you type your response) isn't in focus....

if its a focus problem, try hitting the tab key to get focus to the proper control....
