I was not speaking of near death exeperiences as such; I was speaking of the people who near the end of their lives and realize that if the Church IS right they are in trouble, and confess/convert late in life.

If you go to your grave an aethist, then you are a true aethist.

If you are an aethist up until a week before your death, and then adopt faith, all that went before was just the test phase.
