Other than the aforementioned bug, I have no problems with IE5. I have a major problem with the new advertising spam I'm still seeing.

think I can learn to live with the ugly purple spot, IF it doesn't get any bigger.

One thing we can be certain of -- if it stays, it will get bigger or, what is equivalent or worse, more will show up.

SI will, of course, promise us that this won't happen.

But SI also promised us that there would be no commercial messages in the first place, or that we would have a way to turn them off if there were. If they broke that promise, they can (and will) break other promises.

We have a basic choice: force the elimination of the Datek ad, or accept that before long SI will look just like all the other commercial-infested sites on the net.
