Venom,

You need only the equity. BUT you need to make sure you have your account set up as a margin account if you want to use the equity in your stocks as buying power.

Also, you will need to call Wit each time 30 days passes on an IPO, and the stock becomes marginable, and ask them to move it to your margin account. They will not do this automatically. I believe Etrade does.
