Bridge Player, the name AOL towards other part of world is ok, reason:
(1) Everyone knows SONY, Toyota, Honda are Japanese Brands but people
buy them because they are good quality brands and good price.
(2) People buy Benz, BMW,... because they are famous brand symbolized
social class.
(3) AOL stands for good brand with rich contents and fair price, also
stands for 'member of a special world community', AOL member gets
special discount or bonus doing e-commerce with sponsors.
(4) Patriotism is one thing, reality is another thing, I don't think
people who bought HONDA/SONY/BENZ/PORCHE/... is being considered
non-patriotic.
So, European uses AOL just like you buying foreign brands here in USA,
you buy stuff because you know they are good stuff, why should European or other part of the world be different?
The day AOL announces a flat rate/phone charge package is the day
AOL shoots for $300.
TA or no TA, news driven stocks behave differently.
You follow TA, you will miss the boat, better buy MRK, GE, GM,... and
stay on the side line for good, it is like watching people
fishing, they keep catching fish one after another and you stay
on the side line pondering about the fish they caught may not be
healthy enough to eat.
I'll never wait for Steeny's buy signal, he will be left in the dust eventually, too skeptical, not suitable for internet stocks.
In this environment, you need to listen to Vendit, TA, Voltaire types
of personalities because they represents pioneer spirit, I like
Robert Duke, Jenne, Annette, M.B. and many many happy personalities because they stands for hope,
there is no sure thing in investment, we all know that, so might as well keep good spirit. GGARCIA may just get all his money back in
2-3 ($500/share) years because he finally raises enough guts to stay long for a great stock!
Besides AOL, can you name 1 single internet stock which you may
worry less?
New business, new industry, such as internet, needs guts, needs
spirits, need energy, especially towards a leader like AOL.
You might say the game ain't over yet, but I like to say:
before the game is over, I'll retire way ahead of you.
If you have a conservative personality or nervous personality or
skeptical personality or gutless personilty or cautious personality,
you should stay with GM, GE, MRK, T, S, F, CMB, C,...
There are so many people in this chat room are coming from the
old world trying to adopt a new investment culture, the ones who
adopted fast WIN, the ones come in slowly also win, the difference is the word also.
