Hi Carolyn, which site do you mean? Seen 'em both. I was out most of the day, so didn't get a chance to call datek to see if they'll give me a password for realtime without opening an account - but plan to do so soon. I looked at the GoTo.com site also; it's a garden-variety newish portal/search engine with good possibilities but nothing like the scope and establishment of Bring-Home-The-Bacon Go2net. From the looks of it GoTo closed at $23 per share today while cosmoz.com, teltran.com, maxnet.com and similar others are 1/4 of that - because goto.com went the classic ipo route, and also perhaps because some may have thought it was associated with go2net because of the tv newscasters mixup of the names along with their banner on the header page here. It's not a bad little portal, but nothing formidable like this one or like yahoo, etc. There are some interesting links to stocksites I'd never heard of before in the stock quotes section, that's about it for now. They list .30 and .35 as a cost to the advertiser for the link, and I wonder what that means. Confusing Go2net with GoTo wouldn't be likely for netnuts like us (but maybe possible for other folks newer at DDing the "depth" of a portal stock B4 investing etc.)because of the name similarity. Go2net's proved itself and GoTo hasn't, A Big Difference. Hearing how the Co. names of the two were morphed on tv reports set me off on the rant earlier, is what... fearing that new investors would think our GNET doesn't have earnings after it's worked so hard to come so far so fast, earning .08 a share from a loss the year before, and expand debtlessly as it's done. Far from begrudging the GoTo momo today or denigrating the stock's possibilities; but fearing the two would be confused in the public eye especially so close to the GNET split really got me going.
But GNET did right nice today! Leader of the Level I Internets!!!
Have a great weekend,
909s To My Pals,
Joan
