Thanks for the kind words and I can understand why people think TA is voodoo. I mean, with guys reading the freaking stars and plotting cycles, no wonder this whole field seems like a sham.

My first concern in any trade or investment is if it is put on with adequate risk and money management. The secondary concern is that of using basic TA, like support and resistance and trend, to analyze the action of the buyers and sellers. With a test of top situation all is means is this - a whole bunch of people have been on board to see price X. Then it dropped a lot. And on approach of X, if it fails, the people left over from the first time it was there (and endured the pain of the pullback) might give up and sell. That's about all there is to it, analyzing how many people are trapped by doing the feel good thing of buying high or ending the pain by selling low.

IntellSpec man of technical analysis
you have a friend in Jim Willie... I have said before that "fundamentals control the toss of the ball, and technicals control the bounces"

have made several technical observations, proposed a few technical targets... nailed a few QCOM moves, have a standing Qtarget of 145 (first one logged -- early June)... missed a TBond yield call, but will be vindicated by Sept

dont expect to be endeared on this thread, a haven for telecom engineers of serious acumen, for longterm investors of serious deepockets, for old & new investors alike (I am new)... most will likely read your TA views and click to next message

I for one am interested in your views on QCOM, especially when the technicals indicate a potential pullback of at least 10-15%

sincerely, jim willie
