Sounds like you've answered your own question to your own satisfaction.

Michael, I've said this before but maybe you never heard it, so I'll say it again. I'm Catholic. I know that when Protestants talk about Christians, they don't mean Catholics. Well, some may, but some don't. At least not in the deep South, and that's where I am from. I am old enough to remember when Kennedy ran, his being Catholic was a negative. And so was Cuomo's. You think Christianity is a religion. It's not. You are not Catholic, and I promise you, whether you understand it or not, that what you believe is not what I believe. There is a core that we, as Christians, share.

But there is also a large core that I share with people like E., who as an atheist also suffered persecution, as I have. As Jews have. As Muslims have. And so forth. I will not tolerate being persecuted for my beliefs, and I will not tolerate others being persecuted for their beliefs, or their non-beliefs.

I am not an atheist. I believe in God. My belief is so strong, I do not think anyone surpasses me. But I will not tolerate any of his creatures being harmed in any way because of their beliefs.

There is a middle ground:

1. Post the commandments in all PRIVATE schools that decide they want them posted.

2. Work to eliminate PUBLIC education and privatize all schools.
