Are we talking about hard drives? What kind of external
bays would give that kind of spacing for hard drives?
The external bays are a LOT taller than the hard drives, unless
you have some older SCSI drives (so-called Full Height).

Maybe it's these swapping brackets you're talking about?
If so, the drive itself doesn't fill the space, does it?
If not, I'm more confused than before.

I still don't know that we're talking about the same thing.
However, I am going to bed confused. It is a common practice
for me to do so. I sleep better when confused.
It follows that I normally sleep pretty well ... <g>
