I wish you would believe me when I told you that it hurt my sister and me to be subjected to religious indoctrination in our public schools when we were growing up. It hurt me in a way I can not describe, even more than it did when the Christian children ganged up and hit me and pulled out my hair and called me names, that I was forced hundreds, thousands of times to say prayers that I knew I was saying hypocritically-- that they were words my parents (and I, I being a child) didn't believe in. I think it changed my life, and made me feel in some way I internalized like an 'outsider' in my own country. It did not give me respect for the God of those cruel bigots, though, so all the forced indoctrination that was shoved down our throats in the public school was for naught.

Don't say so cavalierly that it can't hurt minority children to be indoctrinated in the public schools to the religion of the majority.

You have this opinion because yours is the majority religion, I think.

It is not benign or harmless, what you propose. It is an insult and affront to those whose Americans whose precepts you dismiss with a wave of the hand and a "We have more votes, so we can proselytize your children but prevent you from doing the same to ours."

Why won't you respond to my questions about which version of the Ten Commandments, and do you mean the entire passage which I posted, the Ten Commandments in its entirety, verbatim from whatever version of the Bible the Congress votes on as the one, true, version of the Ten Commandments? I think these are fair questions.
