CF and thread -

Im glad Iomega got mentioned becuase I have a terrible problem with my Zip drive trying to get it to talk to my new Toshiba 7020CT ( which combined with my new high speed line is the beginning of Heaven here on Earth).

Anyway I'm running W98 and this Iomega crap won't give me a drive letter or recognize the drive even if I try through DOS. Then it promptly screws up the Windows and I go to Safe Mode.

Am I the only one or has anyone else had this problem with Iomega?

Is there an alternative to Iomega that actually works?

Thanks for any help,

L

CF and Art -

I must have been a bit slow. I just answered my own question about replacing the Zip dirve. The IBM micro drive is ideal if it is removable and fits into a PCMCIA slot.

There IBM does have a use. I don't really have 350Mbt of data that I need to store today so it would last me for years and I wouldn't have to ever see that Iomega crap again. $500 would be a reasonable price to pay for a device with that utlity. I could put my data on CFG of course but since I don't need to carry my back-up around with me and I don't want to have more than one back-up device so the Micro drive would be great.

It could stay nice and cool at home and not get knocked or jolted so it doesn't have to be as tough as a CF.

Where do I get one?

Best regards,

L
