After the Athlon name became known to us and seeing the negative reaction by some, I bet many entries would be K7. RE: "So why not go for alliteration and good imagery with Athena." That doesn't sound tough enough, but I shouldn't shoot your ideas down when I haven't come up with any of my own. Would the marketing include Xena - the warrior princess?

Clever. RE: "But this is unlikely to be approved by any corporate staff." All purpose words (i.e. And) are difficult to trademark. Combination names are possible. RE: "So why not go for..good imagery with Athena. ...the Goddess of wisdom and a new generation of microprocessor - and the association with speed and smarts" I like the name - much improved from other words you've posted on the thread, e.g. "mermaid" and "starlet."
