Shall I bore everyone with the excellence of our young ballplayers? Why the hell not? We are 5-0-1 in league play (the tie, a 0-0 extra-inning game, was an outstanding game with both teams playing really well). Today we had the first two rounds of Peewee World Series; we won both games easily. Tomorrow is the final.

We are a very good team because the head coach knows how to teach kids to play. This year he has taken three raw little guys and turned them into (sometime) ballplayers, and next year they will be much better. He keeps telling me about the improvement I will see in the kids as the season goes on. He's right.

His son is eight years old and a baseball fanatic. He also is the second-best ballplayer of his age I've ever seen (the best made the bigs).

Matt doesn't like baseball very much. He says he likes soccer and swimming better. It's a shame, because I love the game, but it's his call. He's not a very good player, but he tries, and his teammates like him because he's funny.
