According to First Call, mean is $.00 and median is -$.02. The range is -$.08 to $.15, but the highest two estimates, $.15 and $.13 are stale estimates which haven't been revised since March. Looking only at estimate made in the last month the range is $.02 to -$.08 with a median of -$.04. Thus I would assume that anything over -$.04 would certainly be positive.

Interestingly, viewed on a graph with time on one axis and earnings amount on the other the estimates form an almost perfect line. Intersecting that line with the present gives you about -$.10. Thus it may well be that the market will react favorably to anything over -$.10. Even if the number is slightly below that, I don't expect much reaction since the market has already written off this quarter anyway.

As for next year, the mean estimate I see is $1.65, and for 2001 the mean estimate is $6.32. Honest.

Carl
