Hi Thomas,

You didn't know you had the power to wake the dead by invoking its name <G>.

We don't want to be generals fighting the last war (recent experience), but we were burned by the false recovery, false price rise, and crash of '97. My response has been to increase my invested capital by 2.5 times during the recent downleg and recover my cost when the stock reaches 2.5 times what I paid for it. In the LRCX case, my average cost is $19.73. I will sell 40% at $50 and try to ride the other 60% to the top of the next recovery which I hope will persist longer and extend higher than anyone is currently predicting.

I have positions in AMAT, NVLS, KLAC, ASYT, ALTR, and XLNX with no cost base. I am getting close with LRCX, ADPT, LLTC, LSCC, and MXIM. I pray a lot for SVGI, UTEK, EGLS, and SPCT.

Good Luck,

Cary
