I'm doing better too and I had a decent paying job before that.

But, I agree with you. It's difficult. I spent six months watching intraday movements on stocks before I ever tried daytrading and position traded for years before that. Even with that experience, I made plenty of mistakes and tossed away a lot of money.

Eric,I also was a chemical engineer back in the 70's.I fact have met quite a few who trade over the years.
