A ponytail!!!!! I had you pictured as a "suit" kind of guy!

I have the same basic experience as you do. I was making a lot more than most doing my job and was trading at work too. It ended rather badly and I had a pretty decent sized stake from settlement of a lawsuit which I won, so I decided what the hell. I can always go back to work if I crash and burn. It doesn't take that much per day to duplicate a 100k salary, which is more than ample for me to live on here in Texas, with no state income taxes and fairly low cost of living.

Alan, great story! You know, with the Pony Tail and the Bohemian attitude, you would fit right in here in Silicon Valley as well! ;)

I like the scrapiness. Every successful trader I have ever met, bar none, is to put it simply: "scrappy" (myself, included - although I don't have the ponytail YET). I will have to do a post detailing exactly what "scrappy" looks like... I think there are some important learns in there.

My hat's off to you, Sir.

-Steve

" Frankly, I still find trading fascinating but very stressful."

A perfect description.I find that the more I can relieve stress..the better the trading.
