The first transaction would be to deliver money from the buyer to the escrow. Then, when escrow is satisfied that that the goods has been delivered to the buyer, it sends money to the seller.

My guess is the escrow process would be divided into two parts. Buyer sends money to seller through CKFR system, but money gets tagged or held-up until clearance comes from escrow agent who verifies product is adequate. Either way, my guess is CKFR would only charge one fee. But how nice it would be if the charge were based on percentage of the cost of the item sold.

Only time will tell, but the bill payment space has gotten a lot more interesting! EBAY claims 1.5 billion page views a month, and growing.

And then there's YHOO auction...and Amazon auction...and many other business domains we have not even considered yet!

CF must be pretty sure that the deal will go through and reasonably soon to put EBAY into the picture.

I don't doubt for a minute that CKFR may have inked a deal with EBAY. It would actually be a value-added service EBAY would be providing its customers from the standpoint that most transactions now are done with cashier's checks, which cost a lot more than processing a payment through CKFR. Processing payments through the escrow system would probably not cost CKFR much more, but would bring in even higher margins, I suspect.

Just imagine what a great summer this would be if CKFR announced a new deal every Monday... ...YHOO...AOL...Excite@Home...EBAY...YHOO(auction)...Lycos...and oh yeah, our banking accounts are growing 10% a quarter again.
