There is SOOO much that is unfair here. When did an atheist ever start shooting a group - at school or otherwise - to defend or promote atheism? You're insinuating that atheism is causative to school shootings - and as a moral peace-loving gun-owning atheist (well, hard-core agnostic) I am nonplussed.

What a low blow, Christopher, and a cruel thrust, too. I apologize, if you think that appropriate, for the killings in Littleton by those two atheist Nazi students (pausing long enough to mention that Hitler was a Christian.)

To take this incident of pathology and compare it to the common torment by Christians, adults and children, of atheists, including of me and my sister, who were treated by Christian children with physical abuse and Christian adults with snide, frightening remarks (we were 5 and 6 and 10 years old, you understand.) I consider it, also, a subtle form of harassment when Christians claim for themselves rights to indoctrinate my child with their religious views while depriving me of a parallel right to offer mine.

Are you aware that both of the boys who committed the murder/suicides at Columbine High School were raised as believers?

You might want now to reflect on the Inquisition, where any form of supposed heresy, including atheism, brought torture and death to thousands.

It is as relevant to your morality as Columbine is to mine.

I can think of several recent occasions where Christians shot, murdered, or wounded, physicians, staff and patients at abortion clinics. I am sure every one of those murders knew the Ten Commandments by heart.

<<I will believe that if you will believe that it hurts Christians to have aethists burst into their prayer groups at school and start shooting.>>

This has happened in exactly ONE of the school massacres (all of the other shooters have been religious). In the case that it did, the shooter had been bullied and terrorized for a long time by the CHRISTIAN children in the prayer group, until he snapped. Now there is no excuse for that, but certainly there is not any excuse either for Christian children taunting others. Certainly, it is not what Jesus would have done, is it? So how can you really even call them Christians?
