Re JDS shares:
It is my understanding that if you are a canadian you have a choice.
You may choose to take the canadian tracking stock or the uniphase shares. According to your profile you are from Northern VA thus your JDS shares should be converted to the new JDS/UNIPHASE US shares.

If US Resident to UNPH and an annoying Tax Gain. I have been trying to find other solutions but to no avail. Let me know what your read is and what your are going to do. My gains will all be short term. It kinda takes a bite out of the great run up.
