Doug, Thank you. The reason I responded in that way at all was that when GATA was first created, there was tremendous negativity. Many questions were asked over and over, even when I answered the initial ones. Then when I stopped answering, I was questioned by some of our supporters as to why I did not respond and clarify things. The more I tried to be responsive, the worse it got. And not once in answering critics or those that did not feel like many of us did, did anything I ever said get a more "enlightened" response back. It became a complete waste of time and was a big mental distraction. All of us at GATA are doing this without pay. It has become the equivalent of working two jobs for me. I asked for it, so no complaints, but the mental effort ( much less the actual phone, email, and travel time ) is extensive to try and make the right moves. We are making great progress including the fact that one of our operatives engineered a one and one half hour debate in the House of Commons in England. The wire services I spoke to were shocked that Long Term Capital Management responded to us as they did not respond to them or the NY Times. If I had more time, I would be happy to delve into criticisms, etc. Just no time for it and it serves no purpose. Everyone ( and understandably ) has their own idea of what we should do. We have to make decisions and actually do it. Today is the first day in two weeks that I have not been working at fast speed forward. The fun part is - we are going to pull this off. Bill
