As you (at times) admit POG is manipulated,

Well, I know that GATA is trying to manipulate the price of gold right now with their attempt to force CBs to continue to hold their massive quantities of the stuff.

They want the Fed to subsidize their gold mining industry, and by default their long interest in gold.

I also know that with all of this Y2K survivalist mumbo-jumbo, that gold has been HEAVILY PUSHED by many in the buillion industry as the ultimate safe harbor against Y2K disasters. That has created an incredible demand for physical gold (up some 25% in 1998 alone) and permitted the gold miners to HEAVILY SELL FORWARD into this manipulated demand. Apparently they don't think their gold is that valuable and are more than willing to sell it out years in the future.

And now they are griping about the CB's opting to help alleviate the pressures of this artificial demand by selling physical gold before the suckers all begin dumping it in Jan, 2000 when they realize the world, although maybe disrupted, has not become something out of a Mad Maxx movie.

Manipulation works both ways Richard.

Hmmmm.....

Ron
