…hmmm…being only a sixth-grade graduate as you know, I can't read very well—I just look at the pictures. I did, however, find some interesting movies at the local neighborhood “Ye Olde-Parody Dilutes Our Trademark As Much As Fraud-Movie Rental Shoppe”. I notice that movies are trademarked properties. I notice that movie companies are extremely protective of their trademarks (just ask Disney Corp., for example). I notice that many movies have 'Business' references in their titles. I notice that [reference deleted] maintains 'Bidness Wire' is too easily confused with 'Business Wire'. I notice many people don't seem very confused about these particular movies (obtained from www.imdb.com [internet movie database]): Business Affair, A (1994) Business as Usual (1987) Business as Usual During Alterations (1913) Business is Business (1912) Business Is People (1975) Business is a Pleasure (1934) Business for Pleasure (1996) Pleasure Before Business (1927) Bad Business (1997) Big Business (1997) Big Business Girl (1931) How's Business (1991) Show Business (1938) There's No Business (1994) There's No Business Like Show Business (1954) Ticklish Business (1929) Risky Business (1983) Love Business (1931) Sex-Business - Made in Pasing (1969) Too Much Business (1922) Diggin' Up Business (1990) Monkey Business (1998) No Monkey Business (1935) Too Much Monkey Business (1977) Manhattan Monkey Business (1935) Alice's Monkey Business (1926) Donkey Business (1931) Murder Is My Business (1946) Safety is My Business (1980) Well, after watching all those videos, I gotta say that these movie industry folks—some of the most strident in protecting their trademarks—are obviously remiss in their duties when it involves movies using the word 'Business', as any of these movies could so obviously be confused with one another. And BW really should file against those companies, too, for using titles so similar to 'Business Wire'!!! On the other hand—maybe [reference deleted] is simply—maliciously, frivolously, and oppressively—"giving us the business", eh Beav'? They are most certainly welcome to pet my monkey business, should they feel so inclined to continue this 'repression of freedom' business.
