The Oracle Venture Fund is a $100 million fund for companies developing products and services based on Oracle's Internet computing platform, the only completely scalable development and deployment platform for Internet computing. Why was the fund started? Oracle's goal is to promote innovation by investing in the next generation of Internet software companies. Oracle believes that companies funded by the Oracle Venture Fund will benefit from Oracle's worldwide marketing and branding, as well as the market access provided by the world's second largest software company. Companies will also receive access to Oracle's technology, Oracle developers, technical support, and early releases of new software. In what kinds of companies will the fund invest? The fund will focus on companies doing work in the areas of content management, electronic commerce, business intelligence, and other end-to-end Internet solutions. The fund will focus on newly formed companies that choose Oracle as their primary technology platform and more mature companies that are developing new products and services or rearchitecting existing offerings based on Oracle technology. What is the target investment amount? The fund's target investment is between $2 million and $5 million, although higher amounts are possible, depending on individual opportunity and existing investors.
