SPLITS USUALLY ARE INTERPRETED AS HEALTHY! BUT THE SEMI BUSINEES BEING SO CYCLICAL, YOU WANT TO BE ONLY ON THE SIDE OF A ASCENDING CURVE, NOT THE DESCENDING ONE - RIGHT NOW WE HAVE AN ASCENDING CURVE AND AT LEAST TWO YEARS OF UPWARD SEMI CYCLE - WE CAN NEVER TELL - THERE MAY BE FUNDAMENTAL SHIFTS IN THE SEMI BUSINESS BECAUSE OF THE EXPLOSION OF THE INTERNET, WHICH WASN'T THERE IN THE LAST CYCLE. ALSC'S INVESTMENT IN MAVERICK PAID OF WELL AND THE TAIWAN BONANZA SURE HELPED! IF THEIR DEBT POSITION AND CASH AT HAND IMPROVES, THEY MAY BE IN FOR A LONG HAUL. I AM LOOKING ONLY TILL 2001, HOPEFULLY BY THEN ALSC WILL BE 10 BAGGER!
