Is it okay if you're left-handed?
What about if you live on the Left Bank?
What if, once in your life, somebody left you? Can you still own softee?
What if you're left of center but nobody ever called you a leftie?
What if you drive on the left side of the road, cuz you're in England or Australia or Guadulupe on vacation?
Just wanna know...may have to sell some shares if ain't allowed...

Jill

P.S. Ya know what would be totally cool? If you'd start a new thread called "Clintonista"...it would probably get on the Hot List--and keep MSFT thread on track!

[ blankmind says:
- lefties should definitely not own Microsoft
- MSFT is about competition, innovation, displacement of workers & whole companies, making $$billion; making millionaires out of workers & investors alike; and above all, MSFT doesn't offer a fraction of the job security that Gov't workers - especially Government teachers - know & love so much
]

You don't really believe that, do you? It's way too simplistic for anyone who has ever read a newspaper to believe the world is that way.

In response to the above statement, I'd say that conservatives are all about maintaining the status quo. Left wing is not equal to communist, even though some lefties are commies. Just as not all conservatives are racists who were, from among many examples, totally against those "special" civil rights for black people that were achieved in the 60s. And the same goes for "special" civil rights today for gay people.

Liberal people are open to change, and technology such as computers and biology attracts liberals generally. Not too many conservatives are willing to use their minds to create something, they'd rather go to law school or b-school and work in daddy's company.

Perhaps big money, like microsoft, attracts conservatives as investors, and liberals as employees. Weird.

The world is far too complex to call anything complicated the work of either the right or the left wing ; everything results from a complex combination of the two. It might be soothing to the paranoid or the simple minded to ascribe actions that they don't like to a secret subversive conspiracy, but it doesn't happen much outside of James Bond novels.
