SGI, know a little of the company, servers are ok, but they are in a
big competitive quadmire, imho
customer upgrades are slowing, Disney deal may be good, but part of a larger (expected) upgrade cycle

a huge chunk of revenues may be software releated, so i'm not sure of the impact of 'broadband infrastructure pull'

top notch quality and excellent R&D capabilities

but this may be moot as the market is moving forward with Replay Networks and another Vulcan funded venture

I met the Replay CEO during his first pre IPO attempt which he sold privately to MACR...six people in two offices coded 18 hours a day, made him millions, MACR lost even more, imho

back to the topic...server boosts may be moot, replay is a TV top digital VCR which gets content via cable...perfect, uses the existing pipe and distribution system, avoids VERY HIGH costs that WEBTV and WEBChannel will have to get providers to incur

This will be a give away soon with users paying for it via subscription to the software

So on one hand www users will demand wireless connection on the other the mixed mode a la REPLAY is here TODAY...to paraphrase a very smart guy i know !

stirring up the pot, as usual, and imho
ynot :)

MCOM, little pop today...eom ynot :)

EDIT--just read the news, taken out by VULCAN, lol, now put that together with the VULCAN Replay investment and you get BROADBAND goes to the toilet, bwahahahahahaha

just kidding, but still interesting coincidence!
