I'm not yelling, but you should certainly change brokers if it fails to execute an option that is 2 points in the money!!! I would also demand payment.

The more I think about it, I don't even believe your response. My broker does not execute without instructions if the option is 1/4 or less in-the-money upon expiration.

I reread your post and misunderstood.

You did not say that your broker fails to execute an option 2 points in the money. My mistake.

However, I'll let you know that Ameritrade charges about $18 to execute an option. It automatically executes if the option is 1/4 or more in the money.

I objected to Kirby's blanket definitive statement that brokers will not execute an option upon expiration. I thought the poor recipient might skip a beat if he did not realize that Kirby has no credibility or was simply wrong. That is why I qualified my response by saying it was based upon personal experience.
