Blankmind, au contraire, I'm being realistic rather than idealistic. Wouldn't it be nice if this world were so simple (I say tomayto, you say tomahto) that it could be divided into two parties distinct from each other with clear-cut and opposing platforms, and that those parties were unified within rather than often savagely divided; that one party was pro-biz and the other contra; that the Democrats ratified NAFTA (very nice for big biz) for some mysterious reasons I don't understand, since they are all clintonistas whatever that is; that in my own city, republican Guiliani (whom I like) upheld rent control/stabilization even tho the "capitalists" landlords make less $ that way...blankmind, the world is far messier, muddier, more frustrating, and sometimes more thrilling than your view would allow-any politician has flexible views and even more ethically flexible positions, and must, to be successful--c'mon now!!! In reality, we live with a lot more ambiguity than you admit.

Now I'm done! You can clintonista away, I'm on this thread to read Tef, Tech and others who help me invest more wisely.

blankmind, you mind is obviously made up of just a few cubby holes for your view of the world to fit within--left or right, Forbes or Kennedy.

Asking such a question as "if you'd rather the man your daughter marries acts like Steve Forbes or Ted Kennedy" is like asking if you have stopped beating your mother yet. Both choices are very poor, but they are not the choices at hand.
