Forget RCA, but remember telecommunications.

Forget EBAY, but remember the Internet.

IOW, bet on a sector (preferably via an index) and not on individual companies. Go for the average. JMHO.

I will leave the valuations question unanswered for now, as I will follow up to Per's post on that issue later in the day. As for quality of life, equity valuations have nothing to do with that (an workholic like myself feels bad if I do not work 14 hour days anyway :-)). As for inflation, given that the Internet is so small a part of the world economy, it will at best have a minor influence on inflation in the forseeable future. However, there are other reasons why we are faced with possible disinflation in near future. Last week's (6/12-6/18) Economist had an excellent article on this issue. I recommend that you look it up.
