snas,
i am not an advocate of tom's hardware.
what really!! caught my eye was the sept. 5 camino release date.
i do not have any verification from any other sources yet, but that is the first time i have seen a date other than "late september". imo right now, camino is the ball we have to watch. tom predicts sept 5.
i certainly hope he is accurate.

perhaps michael dell will elaborate on cnbc on tuesday. would that not make for some fun? come to think of it, maybe someone saw an advanced copy of his briefing book for next week.
continuing this speculation maybe md increased his rmbs holdings last week. i happened to be watching the screen at 2 pm when the action started. it was a couple of 7500 share buys. then very quickly, like in moments, buyers piled in. that tells me there are a lot of folks watching this one. ready to jump in at any move up. i also thought and previously stated that the shorts may have seen greenspan as their last great hope. he did not come through. then we had a little coppermine confusion fud attempt, that fizzled. they may have hoped for a lousy cpi index to create a black friday. that did not happen either.

as you know i do not like to predict price action. i will predict this. if the market is ok tomorrow, the info coming out of pc expo next week will create a stampede to buy. i have 2 reasons for that. first, any confirmation will bring a lot of knowledgable tech folks to the table, it will also signal an ok to institutions to increase their positions. second, the first shorts to cover and go long still have a chance to do well.
